Soul Calibur 2 Some expieriences just can?t be defined. If i was Charles Dickens, complete with a comedy goatee, I might have a chance. But im not, lets put it this way - Soul Calibur 2 is very good. In fact its the most complete fighting game i?ve ever played.
The story, like in any other fighting game, is simple. Its set in the 16th century, and you play as one of many fighters from all around the world. These people are all fighting for the same thing - The holy grail of swords, the soul edge.
I wont go on about the graphics too much because anyone with eyes can see that they?re drop dead georgues. From the wind blowing thier hair to the sun dazzling you when you?re fighting. Graphics dont get much better than these. Its a good thing then that the PAL has a 60hz mode. If you dont what that last line means go back and read it as - The Uk version will look great on posh tellies. Lets face it, a game that looks this good without having a 60hz mode is like having Cameron Diaz without the arse.
In all theres 23 fighters, and unlike the original they?re all different people. No different costumes or different moves. To go with all of these characters are 12 different weapons to unlock each. You do this by going into weapon mode. Here you have different missions to do. For example, on one you have to beat five different people in a row with only one health bar that doesn?t refill. Tough. there?re 100+ of these which will take you ages to complete.
Best fightig game out??? you betcha. In virtua Fighter 4, Tekken 4, And Dead Or Alive 3 you have to practise til you become a zen master, then and only then do you look stylsh. With Soul Calibur 2 you can play for 5mins or 5hrs and it will still look and more importantly feel good to play.
